Mahashivratri or Shivratri is the major festival of Hindus. This is the major festival of Lord Shiva. Named after the name of the night when Shivaji originated, Kalratri is described in the Puranas as a sacred festival, one of the four major nights called Moharatri, Sukhratri and Shivaratri.
